EMPLOYEES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

At Rolling Plains Construction, we’re proud to celebrate employees who make a difference both on and off the jobsite.
Our Firestopping Estimator and Project Manager, Johan Ollarves, partnered with his friends at Go Navy and ArepasCO to organize a humanitarian relief effort following the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24. Together, they collected medical supplies, food, and essential items for adults and children to help support families affected by the disaster.
Johan shared, “I really want to thank Rolling Plains for all their support for our community. They helped us financially and allowed us to use their facility to store the donated supplies. Together, we were able to collect 50 pallets of humanitarian aid!”
We are honored to have been a small part of this incredible effort. Johan, thank you for your compassion, leadership, and dedication to helping those in need. Your commitment to serving others is truly inspiring and reflects the values we strive to uphold every day at Rolling Plains Construction.

OPERATION I.K.E.A - Arizona estimating team.

What started as a pit stop at Buc-ee’s during a trip to his son’s baseball tournament turned into an innovative team-building event for the RPC Arizona Estimating Department.

Inspired by the visit, RPC Arizona Chief Estimator Jerry spent the next several days developing Operation I.K.E.A. – Improvement, Knowledge & Estimating Accuracy, a friendly competition designed to strengthen the team’s skills while encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.

The department was divided into three teams, each competing for first pick of Buc-ee’s gift bundles based on a point system earned throughout the day.

Improvement

Each estimator was challenged to propose one idea to improve the department. The exercise generated a variety of thoughtful suggestions that will help strengthen workflows and support future success.

Knowledge

The team completed an 85-question written assessment covering the technical knowledge and estimating principles they use on a regular basis. Congratulations to Kaitlin, who achieved a perfect score!

Estimating Accuracy

Jerry developed a mock bid and completed it himself as the benchmark. Each team prepared and submitted its own estimate, with points awarded for producing the closest, most accurate, and best-qualified bid. While one team earned first place, it was encouraging to see all three teams finish with bids in a very close range—a testament to the department’s consistency and expertise.

At the end of the competition, teams selected their Buc-ee’s prize bundles in order of their final scores.

The event was a tremendous success, providing an enjoyable way to sharpen estimating skills, encourage teamwork, and generate ideas that will benefit not only the estimating department but every RPC team they support.
